Having danced since age 4, Dawn finds herself some 56 years later in the same place she was back in 1966 - that nothing makes her feel more at "home" than treading the boards of a stage floor or standing in front of the camera. 

Dawn loves teaching master classes on acting, directing and producing; she enjoys public speaking and has served as adjunct faculty for various acting departments around the country.  She been a spokesperson for both local and national commercials as well as motivational speaking from LA to D.C. Over the years, she has been asked to serve as a guest host (and writer) for many company and corporation functions. Her episode on The Discovery Channel's series A HAUNTING entitled “The Possessed” is still listed as the number one most popular episode.  Her acting credits span from OFF BROADWAY to the Radu Stanca National Theatre in Sibiu Romania, to the Pesti Vigado Theatre in Budapest, Hungary.  Dawn is a member of Actor’s Equity Association (AEA), Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and Stage Directors and Choreographers Union (SDC). 

During the COVID lockdown, Dawn started a podcast called ACT with Season One complete and with over 2500 downloads, ACT is gaining ground and can be found on all podcast platforms.  Currently in production for Season Two, Dawn will be  interviewing some of Denver's top talent along with splashes of famous celebrities that everyone is sure to recognize.  You can catch the new season this fall 2024.

Dawn believes that it’s the continual infusion of new works along with the creative minds of playwright’s that keeps the relevance and vitality of American theatre alive.  Founded in 2008, (and headed up by Dawn) the Martha Hill Newell Playwright’s Fund has awarded over 15 recipients with monetary scholarships.  For more information about submissions, please refer to the MHN playwright tab. Raised in the verdant and humid state of Virginia, Dawn's heart will always belong to the south, but she is LOVING living the life of a cowgirl in the beautiful  and dry Rocky Mountains of Colorado.  Her husband is an anesthesiologist in the Boulder area and their daughter is a senior at Colorado University Boulder.  They have 2 wire hair fox terriers, a cat and love their having their coffee talks while looking at their beautiful view of the Flatirons from their patio.
